  4. There are 6 different themes/subjects based on "Letter from Birmingham Jail" by Dr. MLK, Jr. Each group must choose a different one. Please discuss among yourselves on which group will choose which. EMPASIS THROUGOUT THE LETTER...
    • How did Dr. King develop the AUTHOR'S PURPOSE throughout his letter?
    • How did Dr. King support his reason for being in Birmingham (Religious) throughout the letter?
    • How did Dr. King support his reason for being in Birmingham (Moral) throughout the letter?
    • How did Dr. King support his reason for being in Birmingham (Organizational) throughout the letter?
    • How does Dr. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail relate to issues today?
    • How does King justify Civil Disobedience throughout the letter?
  5. Once you have decided your theme, it's time to divide the work...each member needs to take a job.
    • Connotation/tone
    • Literary Devices
    • repetition/Anaphora
    • "LFBJ" Vocabulary
    • Structure of Argument: Claim and Evidence
  6.  Obviously, you must have evidence to support the "job" you chose from bullet 5.
  7. Divide your slides among each member within the group. Make sure each slide is only 20 seconds long. Each member must present their own slides/section based on the job they take.
  8. How this is accomplished is up to you. Empress me! 
  9. Oh...No presentation is complete without a P-E-E-E-E-L. Each member writes their own PEEEEL based on the group's theme and their own job. 
    • Ex:  How does Dr. King justify Civil Disobedience using connotation/tone?

    • I recommend to divide up the presentation, and make sure everyone knows his/her job, then get to work on your PEEL.
    • Try to get as much as you can done today because you will not have a lot of time after today.
