Chem A -- QUIZ on Gas Laws

2019-2020

Chemistry (A)

Date

Feb. 25, 2020

Additional Info
  • Be sure you have looked at my feedback and CORRECTED both Ch. 11 textbook assignments using the keys posted in OneNote and a different colored stylus.
  • Quiz on Chapter 11, Sections 1-2 on Gas Laws (does not include ideal gas law)
  • Quiz covers material we have covered so far, including applications of Dalton's Law, Boyles' Law, Charles' Law, Gay-Lussac's Law, and the Combined Gas Law. You are also expected to be able to do "open manometer" problems (see class notes) and pressure unit conversions. You need to memorize what STP means and you need to be able convert any Celcius temperure to Kelvin (or vice versa). Any of the problem types on homework or the Gas Laws worksheet #s 1-6 (posted in Quiz Review area of Ch. 11 resources) are fair game.
  • The emphasis of this quiz is the "concepts" and how to apply them more than raw definitions; this is a very "mathy" sort of quiz, although there could be a definition or two.
  • I expect that anyone who has practiced this past week or two will be able to do very well on it.
